I can not find any info about January 2nd, 2006. Does anyone know if that is the official national holiday? If Employers have to pay us holiday wages for working that day?

Unless you work for the federal government, you do not have to be paid holiday pay for any "federal holidays". There is no law in California that requires the employer to pay you a premium for working on a holiday either.
