Just a question because I don't know how much more I can take and can't find an answer anywhere else....
The company that I work for is family owned with only 3 locations in the state of North Dakota it is a hotel so it is open 24/365, I am a salery paid manager and have to work holidays if it falls on a weekday. Is this legal?? I don't recieve any more pay nor an alternate day off. When I work Thanksgiving all of the employee's get a $25.00 bouns and a $5 gift card to somewhere, managers get a movie ticket and a $5 gift certificate to somewhere. I am curious to see if it is legal not to pay time and a half or offer an alternate day off.

The only employees who get paid federal holidays are those who work for the federal government. There are no laws requiring other employers to provide paid holidays.

And as a manager, I am assuming you are exempt, which means that the employer is not legally required to pay you overtime, no matter how many hours you work. Hospitality is a tough industry.
