I worked for a company for 18 years. Not once in 17 yrs. i had a written or verbal warning. About a year ago i was diagnosed with severe depression,and received 2 written warnings.I went to the personal manager to put in for a transfer.I told her of my condiction,she calls the the plant manager down to her office. he begins asking me all types of personal questions about my condiction. he insisted i tell him what type of prescription medicine i was taking and sugested that i may be taking illegal drugs from off the streets.I let it go because i needed my job but it depressed me more knowing how i had busted my butt for this company.Well from then own every time i would get rid of a warning they would find somthing to write me about on one acasion they went back 5 months and wrote me up.My job was mantenance tech-supervisor i had 5 employees under me. this one guy had areal bad temper he would continuios scream profanity to the top of his lungs,kick things,throw things and so on. I reported him to my superviser,so did another another lady. All my supervisor would say is that's the way he acts i would'nt pay him any attentsion.me at the lowest point in in my life"not to pay him any attention" .well about 2 weeks ago he started screaming and cursing me from just out of the blue.Out of frustration i threw a closed utility across the room wich landed no where near him. He runs gets the supervisor and tells him i threw somthing at him.The supervisor asked me did i throw anything at him.in my anger i said yes "i would have thrown thru him if i could have". wich i did'nt mean. I mean if i was going to harm him i had a knife in my hand i could have cut him.the personal manager fires me and he don't even get suspended.come to find out his wife wich works in the same department and the personal manager are 1st cousins. I thought a workplace was suppose to provide a hostile free enviroment. can any thing be done about this?should i seek an attorney? They said i was fired for the comment i made.
