My son was born in Oklahoma. my child support case was 1st filed in California. i now live in nevada and that is where the child support is going thru rite now. the court order for child support is 235.00 and 100.00 in arrears per month. i am getting no where near this amount. i understand that the father has other child support cases in effect but my question is if i file for review of my case #1 will my case be under oklahoma law? and #2 if it is will the child support be based on both incomes? and #3 how can i find out when the other child support cases have been dropped. i know it costs a lot more to live in las vegas than it does in oklahoma so i would not want my income to become a factor in the case. hope you can help me. thank you.

I help answer a few questions first off if the father has other support cases as well as yours , when the paying father pays any amount of support they usually split it between the cases untill the support is paid in full between the differant cases. then the amount being paid to arrears is normally split up as well except for the case owing more than other is the one that's gets paid first. At least that's how it works here in michigan because my fiance is in that situation.

you might want to check your state guidelines because here in michigan if bio mom get's remarried they do take into consideration the spouses income if bio mom does not work. Some cases if a bio parent is not working they would base child support on what a reg paying job would be.

thank you for the reply. the bio father is remarried and i am not. i make good money here in vegas but it is just enough t get by and still try to provide a "normal" life for my son that gets no help from the father. i was going to have my case reviewed but if it could lower the very minimal payments i already receive then i don't want to do it. is there any way i can find out how many other cases are open for the bio father?

In your state do you have a toll free number that you can call reguarding child support cases? Here in michigan we have a 1800 number and as long as you have bio dads social # you can call and it list your cases.
