Can a collection agency take a voluntary wage assignment that is being honored every month and paid on time, away and do a garnishment instead?
Or is there a way that they can make you pay them more then what they had originally agreed was fine to pay?

Garnishment orders are granted by the court. They can't just do it on their own. Has your employer received a garnishment order for this debt?
