i have a question.my ex husband had custody of my two children.My daughter moved to louisiana with me three years ago and my son came down last year.i filed for child support with louisiana in feb.2005.is there any way i can speed up this process or is this normal for it to take this long.

Unfortunately, interstate child support always takes awhile. My ex lives in AZ and I live in VA. It took me from April 2004 until October of this year to have the case heard by a judge. Also once there is an actual order it will take time for the process to start. Our hearing was October 5, here it is December 28 and his employer has just received the garnishment orders. backlogs are normal; another approach is a private agreement that is approved by the court and that may speed thigns up
