I was laid off from work on June 17th but only received my last paycheck today (July 6). Isn't there a law that requires the employer to give a final paycheck within 72 hours? Also, on my last day of work I was sent home early with no reason. What is the minimum amount of hours the employer is required to pay me for the day? Thanks

I was laid off from work on June 17th but only received my last paycheck today (July 6). Isn't there a law that requires the employer to give a final paycheck within 72 hours? California reg's require that a worker who is fired be paid "at once." Employees who quit must be paid within 3 days.
Also, on my last day of work I was sent home early with no reason. What is the minimum amount of hours the employer is required to pay me for the day? I think California has a minimum four hour "report pay requirement.
Clarification: An employee who is fired, or who quits with more than three days notice, must be paid immediately.
An employee who quits with less than three days notice must be paid within three days.
I believe Beth is correct about the reporting time pay. To the best of my knowledge, CA is one of only two states which requires reporting time.
