Hi,
I received advice on this forum to file 2 claims against mine and my husbands previous employer: 1-Getting my vacation pay after being let-go, and 2-Getting pay for my husband that had been withheld stating he should have taken a lunch every day that he had worked before he quit. (We had the same employer). My ex-employer has no written policies whatsoever.
I had tried to file claims with the Arizona Industrial Commission board, but the claims were over their limit, so they advised me to file a civil suit. I have 2 questions:
1. Do you think it is necessary to hire a lawyer?
2. Since I must file a civil suit, I can claim for up to 3 times what the employer owes. Do I automatically sue for this, or do I somehow need to justify it?
Thanks in advance.
