I worked for a small company as a contractor in 2002 and 2003. The company still owes me nearly $10K in wages. They last sent me a check a year ago. The company is still in business.

I went to see a lawyer, and he told me that they have 3 years after the last check to send me the rest of my pay.

Can someone here point me to any resources to find out how to get my wages sooner? I do send them a bill every month.

It sounds like you were an independent contractor, not an employee. If that is the case, the state Dept. of Labor cannot assist you. You would have to file a civil claim.
