I tendered my resignation in writing with my employer yesterday to take a similar position with a competitor. My employer asked me to leave as of this afternoon. I was told by a friend of mine that since they asked me to leave before my stated last day, that they are entitled to pay me for the full two weeks per a PA labor law. Can anyone confirm if this is true or not and if so where I can research this more or get a copy of this law so that I may go back to my employer for this compensation. Thanks for your help!

No, that is not true. No law in any state requires an employer to pay for offered but unworked notice time.
