I have 3 kids and my daughter thats 13 wants to live with me and not her mom she's 13 and the thing I live in pennsylvania and her mom lives and massachusetts how do I go about fighting for custody for my daughter..Please let me know anything you can thank you..

Girls that are around that age (13) go through stages where they are testing their independence and wanting to make grown up decisions. The fact is, they are not grown ups and unless there is reasonable cause and not just a 13 yr old that is mad this week at their mother, you will probably waste alot of time and money and cause alot of chaos in your own life for something that could just be a "whim" on your daughters part. For starters, it would cost you thousands in attorney fees for a custody case (if the mother is not agreeable) and you are not guaranteed a win. You also run the risk of your daughter changing her mind part way through the process and you would have probably already signed a contract for attorney fees and won't get that back.

Your best bet is to talk with the mother and daughter jointly and maybe offer to give it a trial period before you do anything legal, this will make the mother more comfortable and possibly save yourself alot of legal fees if you determine it is not really what the girl wants long term.

Just the thoughts of a mother of two girls (11 & 13).
