HI I AM IN NEBRASKA. I HAVE A QUESTION CONCERNING BREAKS AT WORK. I WORK FOR A CALL CENTER. SOME OF THE EMPLOYEES SAY THAT WE ARE SUPPOSE TO GET A 15 MIN. PAID BREAK FOR A SCHEDULED 5 HR. SHIFT.
SO IF A PERSON IS SCHEDULED ONLY FOR 5 HRS. SHOULD THEY GET A PAID 15 MIN. BREAK? THIS IS HOW ARE BREAKS ARE.

UP TO 5 HRS NO SCHEDULED BREAKS ARE GIVEN
6 HRS TO 7 1/2 HRS TWO 15 MIN BREAKS ARE SCHEDULED
8 HRS TO 9 1/2 HRS TWO 15 MIN BREAKS ARE SCHEDULED ALONG WITH A 30 MIN LUNCH
AFTER 10 HRS 1 ADDITIONAL 15 MIN BREAK IS SCHEDULED

First of all, turn off the caps lock. It makes your post hard to read and is considered shouting on the Internet.

SOME OF THE EMPLOYEES SAY THAT WE ARE SUPPOSE TO GET A 15 MIN. PAID BREAK FOR A SCHEDULED 5 HR. SHIFT

They are wrong. Neither Federal nor Nebraska law requires rest breaks of any kind.

The only break required by either Federal or Nebraska law, is a Nebraska law requiring that any employee who works an 8 hour shift must be given a 30 minutes unpaid break, and even that law applies only to certain industries, of which a call center is not one.

So if you are getting ANY breaks, you are getting more than required by law.
