I have recently moved to Ohio from NC w/my husband and 2 daughters. My 16 yo daughter is staying w/my dad in NC..She did not want to move..My Dad was all for us moving out of state..At the time of the move, I wasn't receiving child support from my ex-husband for several months. Well, right after we moved, he started paying again. The NC child support office is sending my checks to my Dad..(they never even contacted me-the order has not even been changed)I don't have a problem with the money, since my husband and i had already decided if the ex started paying, we would send it to my Dad. I have found out my Dad is all behind this, and now is suing me for Custody. He wants to keep my daughter permanently now so that he can get the Child Support. (He is also lying to my daughter saying he only has gotten 1 check...I know positively he has gotten 5)...my daughter refuses to talk to me, and I don't plan on trying to force her to move to Ohio. That's why she is w/my dad...I know at 16, the Judge will let her live where she wants to go. It would be a lost cause to even fight it. The other problem I have is-now my Dad is trying to get Child support from me thru NC. I have been a stay at home Mom the last several years and we moved to Ohio to take care of my Grandmother. She is living with us. She is 85 w/heart and lung problems and is legally blind. How am I supposed to work to pay child support?..We live 10 miles from town,only have 1 car, my husband works the swing shift and I am the only 1 able to care for my Grandmother and handle things for our girls..My Dad is already getting 653.00/mo for my daughter from her Dad. Even my ex says I don't need to pay, that he makes enough to support her (which is surprising because we don't get along!). Another problem is that my Dad has a gambling problem and I think that is where the money is going. I had no where else for her to stay..She was threatening to run away if we made her move..I didn't want her to stay w/my Dad,but, I was scared she would run away. He has turned her against me, just so she will want to stay with him. I found all this out from the CS records, he never even told me anything!...I just wondered if maybe someone knew something about NC minimum amounts for Child Support...I do think it's ridiculous that I would have to pay since my Dad knows the reason we had to move and after raising her on my own w/no help from my Dad or anyone else(he never even visited the grandkids),but, realize I have to pay something...I'm sorry this is so long...I am just really stressed with everything-losing my Daughter, the move and all the other responsibilities....Thanks everyone.
