A woman that I work with fell and broke her pelvic bone. There was already a posted schedule and I was scheduled with 128 hours. My boss said she was going to have to change the schedule to fill in the other lady's hours. After she made the new schedule, she cut the absent lady's hours in half and how I only have 96 hours. I am a part-time employee and the two other girls (who are also part time)who have less senority than me ended up with more hours than me (one had 50 more hours and the other 30). My boss said there was nothing she could do since the schedule was already re-posted. My dad told me that it is illegal to change an already posted schedule and to take your hours away without getting your permission first. Is this true? Please HELP!

Your dad is totally incorrect on this. Your employer is free to change your work schedule any time they wish to - whether that's to increase or decrease your hours or rearrange the hours that you'll be working.
