I recently bought a home in arkansas & wasnt told that it floods. It floods everytime it rains. I have done everything i can think of to get someone to help me( called governors office, D.A. ,prosecuting atty) & the only thing is I keep getting told to take the previous owners to court. Thats where the problem lies i cant afford it(i am disabled living on a fixed income). Is there some kind of state\goverment legal assistance??

Look at the property sale disclosure sheet and see what was marked regarding items that may impact flooding. Also, please keep in mind that maybe this is due to natural causes and the weather and where you are located. Another idea-- invest in a sump pump.

(2) It doesn't cost anything to sue someone, other than the court costs which are trivial. If you can show the judge that you are on government assistance they will usually waive the court costs as well. Just go to the courthouse and talk to the clerk. They will give you detailed instructions on how to file.

'Court Costs' are the fees that you pay directly to the court in order to file a lawsuit, respond, etc.
