I manage a mortgage company in New Hampshire. Currently I pay my Loan officers as independant contractors (1099). I have relationships with other managers and they have been shifting their employees to W-2 status rather than 1099. Has New Hampshire labor laws changed because loan officers are not considered independant contractors anymore, and do I now have to change the way I'm paying out my originators? Any advice concerning this matter would be greatly appreciated!
