I live in Arkansas. I worked for a company that paid us by commision only. There was a person who was always writing up tickets for sales of merchandise that I had worked for days trying to get together and working with people to make the sale. She would do it on my days off or if I was out of the store and my customers would come in and ask for me, she would tell them that she could write up the ticket. I had gone to my store manager on several occasions and told him what she was doing to me. (And to other sales people). He always said not to worry about it. Well the final straw came and my boss, the other salesperson and I had a meeting. I asked him what he could do to stop this from happening. He said that we needed to work it out between the two of us and that it should be done with "grace". He would not talk to her about it. Since this was my pay that was being affected, I told him that I was leaving and did so. Now I was denied unemployment compensation. I have appealed, but what is your opinion on whether I should get it? Under what law would this be? It was not due to harrassment, etc. Just that the other sales person was in effect taking part of my paycheck and the store manager refused to do anything about it. Thank you.
