I am currently in an HR position at my job, since Thursday I have contacted the corporate HR department to let them know what is going on at my current worksite. There have been issues with the current manager threatening an employee if they file a worker compensation claim and also harsh treatment towards an employee (the victim) with a sexual harassment investigation. Due to the fact that I have finally let the corporate offices know what is going on, I am receiving harsh treatment from the manager. There has been a pre-approved Leave of Absence (personal for schooling) that the manager has signed and is now saying that it isn't going to be approved. I feel that she is doing this because I have contacted the corporate offices to ensure that my boss stop breaking the law.
Earlier in the year I had requested a transfer to another worksite to get out of the hostile work environment, my boss and her boss had both first denied my request, yet I met all qualifications, then secondly threatened me to change my status from full-time to part-time, and then my bosses, boss informed all the other stores that there is to be no transfers. So I couldn't go anywhere.
Also, in the fall, I found out that my boss was making me train another person to take my position, yet I wasn't going anywhere at that time. I feel like my boss is trying everything in her power to get me to quit.
Do I have a foot to stand on for discrimination or making me work in a hostile working environment? I do not think that I am covered under the whistle blowing act because I didn't go to someone outside the company about the unethical work practices.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
LSP
