Can a california employer schedule you for an 8 hour lunch "7am-11am and 8pm-12am" and then not allow you to go home at your schedule time until 3 or 4am and have you come back at 7am the next day.

Sheesh. It's a split shift, pure and simple, no matter what they call it. Do you have a specific question about split shifts? Screech 12-04-2005, 05:53 PM They do not call it anything that I am aware of they just put me 7am-11am and then 8pm-12am without permission from me and am a in sales "hourly+commission" and store closes at 9/10pm. The Best time for sales is the 8 hours they have me "out to lunch". Thank You for your quick response. :) Pattymd 12-05-2005, 06:04 AM That stinks, but there is nothing illegal about it. Looks like it may be time to look for a new employer. |
