I am a salaried exempt employee who travels for occassionally work. Recently our trips have increased dramatically as we get more customers and I am wondering about reporting travel time. I logged almost 100 hours in a one week period which includes almost 40 hours of travel time.

Should travel time be counted the same as regular hours worked? Can the company give us comp time for travel time? I saw that it is not ok to give comp time standardly but don't know if it's a different thing for travel time.

Thank you!

Beth is better at travel time guidelines than I am but if you are exempt they are not required to pay you extra for travel time; it's considered part of your work week.

Yes, they CAN give you comp time for travel if they wish to, but they are not required to. It's only for non-exempts that comp time is is prohibited; it's permitted but optional for exempts.
