A girl at work yesterday said that Arizona State Law requires that at least 8 or 10 hours (she couldn't remember which) were required between shifts, or you have to pay overtime. My supervisor and I hadn't ever heard of this, and I tried looking it up online, but I can't find anything of the sort. Her reason for bringing this up was that she is working an overnight shift (Thursday 6pm - Friday 8am) and then has to go back to work Friday 2pm - 9pm. Does she have a case here?

No, she doesn't.

If she persists, turn the tables back on her and tell her that when she shows you the law, THEN you'll pay the OT.
