Can they do this? Pattymd 11-17-2005, 01:34 AM If you are nonexempt, that is perfectly legal. If you are an exempt employee, it is still legal, unless you have no vacation available; then they would have to pay you anyway. justcurious101 11-17-2005, 05:19 AM Could you explain what an exempt and nonexempt employee are? I am not familiar with what those terms mean? Thanks. Pattymd 11-17-2005, 07:18 AM Based on your job duties, and means you are either exempt from the minimum wage and overtime provisions of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act, or you are not exempt and the minimum wage and overtime provisions apply to you. What kind of work do you do? justcurious101 11-17-2005, 07:12 PM I am a pressman at a print shop. I get paid an hourly rate and overtime when applicable.
