I quit my job after only week, the employer "small collection agcy" sd tht I broke company policy after I left, he told me tht I use company data base for personal use. Then told me that his Lawyer would be getting in contact with me. Can he legally hold my check or not give it to me at all????? I put my address in a data base that was used for skip tracing..Can I be suited for that???

Well, you did use the company data base for personal use, right? And yes, theoretically anyone can sue (not suited) anyone for almost anything if they find an attorney who will take the case. Doesn't mean the suit has any legal merit, however.

Regarding your final pay, Georgia has no provision regarding when the final paycheck must be received by a terminated employee. It appears you may have to file a civil suit for your final wages. However, it would probably be under the maximum for small claims court in Georgia, and that filing can be done pretty inexpensively.

Doesn't make any difference whether you quit or were fired, you handle it the same way.

BTW, you are a voluntarily terminated employee.
