I am a Employer of a small hair salon and an employee gave me NO notice @ all and quit then continues to harrass me about her paycheck I have intentions of paying her But, what are the florida laws as in when I actually have to pay her? I will not be harrassed in to paying her. Not to mention she went through all my client records gathering up there names and numbers to try and get them to her new place of employment!

Florida is one of the few states that has no statute dictating when a final check must be released. Common law generally holds that it should be the time of the next regular paycheck.

A good way to get her off your back would be simply to pay her. She is owed the money; you intend to pay her; refusing to do so simply so you can say you weren't "harassed" into paying her is only cutting off your nose to spite your face. The law is going to support her in this, not you, even in the absence of a specific drop-dead pay date.
