My wife works at a retail store in Arizona. She is ill with Strep Throat and tried to call in sick. She was told that if she needs to take the evening off, she is responsible for finding a replacement, not the store manager on duty. This seems extremely unfair to require an ill employee to find their own replacement to cover a shift. Is there anything in the labor law that covers this situation?
