Recently I received a page from my employer telling me that I was terminated immediately. When I phoned them, the only statement he would make was " I made him uncomfortable " I have been employed for this organization for 18 years, never had an incident, followed all the policies, etc. I am sure this is related to several days prior to my termination, I was asked to give a patient liquids, when this patient had a doctor's order to receive nothing by mouth, So I did not provide the patient liquids and asked that an order be received by the physician to give this patient liquids/food by mouth. The nurse in charge falsified documentation and gave this patient liquids without the physicians order, and when I questioned this procedure, I was terminated several days later. The policy manual for this facility indicates that termination is given after the following: 1-verbal warning, 2- written warning, 3- 3 day suspension. None of these which I have never received. I realize Ohio is "At Will Employment" state, by is there any recourse?
Secondly, My last paycheck was not complete for all the hours worked, and when I asked to be given the correct amount, as well as my vacation and personal days which are based on the year previous, I still have not heard from them?
