Ok My fiance's son is being adopted by bio moms new husband. The question is my fiance still owe's some money for birthing cost. We live in Michigan. My question is once the adoption is complete are we still liable for the amount owed? Or will the new step parent take over? Any advice would be great.

My suggestion is to make the mother and stepfather to take over payment for birthing as part of the agreement to terminate parental rights, and make it legal and in writing that they assume that debt and any other concerning the child to include child support as part of the agreement to terminate parental rights. An attorney needs to be consulted.
