I was involved in an accident in a parking lot with a drunk driver. The driver of the car tried to flee the scene but we were able to chase him down since it was a parking lot. He was only charged for careless driving and dui not trying to leave the scene of an accident. besides a couple of bruises and a burn from the airbag, i am not hurt. i was to ld to file a law suit but it seems i have to be injured in order to do that. i know nothing abou these types of things so i would like and opinion on what i should do. my car was deemed a total loss by my insurance company. if i left out any details that were needed to help me let me know and i can fill you in. thanks for any help.

You were injured-- the bruises and powder burns and your car was totaled-- get medical bills and the insurance estimate for your car to be repaired or totaled out and sue for the medical expenses, car repairs or replacement, missed work, pain and suffering, etc.... I suggest taht you get an accident injury attorney if your insurance company will not represent you. You would have to probably sue the other driver and your insurance company and the other driver's.
