My husband has a parenting agreement that cites "the minor children" for visitation purposes. My stepdaughter is turning 18 in 3 weeks. She is with us every other weekend and Tuesday night's for dinner, in addition to some school holidays, etc. In addition, she is mentally handicapped but VERY high functioning. I know child support does not end until the child graduates from high school but what about visitation? When she turns 18, does she have the right to say she does not want to come over at all? On the flip side, if she is 18, can she come over whenever she wants to at 18 w/out having to ask her mother?

Disabled children are handled a little differently as the support obligtion may go past age 18, and until the child is on other income, usually meaning until she graduates from high school and they set her up on social security disability and there is a plan put into place for her growth and socia development. There are a wide range of options from living at home, to a group home, to being in a special program, etc.... This is a tough one to answer as there are many variables.

Maybe on each day one parent can have them for half of the day.
