Can an employer leave an employee at a job site? The employer and other employees were out of the country on a job site and employee #1 and employee #2 got in an argument which led to one employee #2 being arrested. The employer and other employees left employee #2 in jail and left to return to the United States. Employee #2 has been released (he was being detained) and went to the airport to return to the United States and the employer CANCELED his ticket. Whe employee #2 tries to call the employer, the employer hangs up on him. What rights, if any, does employee #2 have? Isn't it the responsibility of the employer to return him to the United States?

Employee #2 is just trying to get home :(
Any advice would be helpful.

Depends on the contract/agreement, but generally speaking, yes. They won't take his calls? Sheesh. He should contact the American Embassy in country.
