On 10/11/05 I hurt my back at work while loading a box of paper into the back of a pickup. At first my back was sore so I did not think anything of it. Then on 10/12, the next day, I could not get out of bed and ended up going to the Chiropractor. I called work and told them I could not go in and they demanded I go in because they needed backups made on the 11th, I'm a network manager. So I loaded up on pain medicine and went. When I got to work I had told my Manager what had happened and she did not say anything about workman's compensation. I did not return to work on the 13th and 14th. On the 14th I called for the workman's compensation forms but I had to wait until Monday to talk to the person in charge of that. On Monday I could return to work and worked that week, monday, tuesday, and wednesday of this week and when I got home wednesday night something slipped in my back and now I cannot walk without extreme pain. I called today for workman's compensation forms and was denied them because "it was not done in a timely manner" and that my manager denys I had said anything to her. (She commonly lies to keep herself out of trouble) Is this legal? I read on some New Mexico Law site that one had 15 days, from the day of the accident, to report it. What should I do now?
