Probably not. Even if step parent adoption goes thru, bio Dad can be liable for past due child support. Under some circumstances like indigency, the court may appoint counsel for bio father.

The bio mother has proceeded with the step parent adoption but it can not be finalized untill June 25TH 2006. They will be married 1 year. My fiance is 250.00 behind in support. It was stopped as of 11-01-05 court ordered. All he is required to pay is the 250.00 that he owes to the state and bio mother. Should we get an attorney or lawyer.
