My friend [female on medication for diagnosed depression] was arrested for assault on her boyfriend. He did not press charges because it was just a argument that got noisy and the neighbors called the police. The state pressed charges on behalf of the boyfriend. The boyfreeind wants to drop the charges, but he did not file them, so what can they do to get her out of trouble? Is there such thing as Diversionary aggreement in Tx.? Can anyone help with this? My friend is desperate.

Diversionary agreements probably exist, but the friend may need an attorney to get one and negotiate one.
Also, this may be a case wehre a dismissal might occur if the prosecutor does not believe that a case can be made in court without the boyfriend's cooperation. If the case can be made without the boyfriend, they may proceed with a prosecution anyway.
