My husband was an employee of a man who is a contractor for a poultry supply Co. in our town, in Georgia. He was on the job in another state about an hour from home. My husband drives the boss's vehicle to work everyday. He got into a dispute with another employee and left the job site walking. When the boss and other employees came to the store where he stopped, they left him there. The other employee's stated that they were instructed to leave my husband there. If they gave him a ride, the boss said he would fire them. Is it legal to abandon your employees?

How did he get there? Did the company guarantee transportation to and from the work site? But, after all, who did the first "abandoning"? Your husband just walked off the job site, leaving his position?

My husband got to work in the boss's vehicle. When my husband first started the job he drove his own vehicle, then was later asked to start driving the boss's. No, they never guaranteed any transportation. Yes, he did leave the job site on his own. Thank you for your response.

I have to agree - your husband literally walked off the job. Unfortunately, he apparently didn't recall how far away from home he was.

No, it was not illegal for them to leave him there.
