What do I need to do to give her temp guardianship? LostInFL 10-18-2005, 12:49 PM You can find the paperwork at your circuit clerk's office....or online. I can try to find the link but dang if all my bookmarks didn't poof this morning. I believe it's under $300 to file...and make sure you are requesting the packet for a family member OTHER than parents for guardianship. LostInFL 10-18-2005, 12:57 PM Here's the link: Florida Law Forms (http://www.flcourts.org/gen_public/family/forms_rules/index.shtml) However, I do not see the one I had looked into (mistakingly) at my circuit clerk's office. It is entitled "Petition for Temporary Custody Under Chapter 751" The packet itself of paperwork cost $13.80 at my office and a $255.00 filing fee. Hope this helps satmike 10-18-2005, 03:05 PM I just want to give the legal ability to take care of them. In case of medical emergency and things of that nature. Do I have have to give her temp custody to do that? LostInFL 10-18-2005, 03:06 PM You might want to look into guardianship satmike 10-18-2005, 03:07 PM Thank you. elklaw 10-18-2005, 10:21 PM If you are military, go see JAG- usually a power of attorney that is specific for caring for the kids is adequate. If not JAG, a private attorney should be able to draw one up. Another approach is to file a temporary legal guardianship but that requires court filing. For 2 months, the power of attorney should be adquate. Consult your local attorney to see what they recommend also. |
