I apologize if this is to long!!

In 2000 my department moved under a new supervisor. From the beginning this individual harassed, threatened and intimidated me and fellow female employees. When I went out on maternity leave that year he would call and email me at home regarding work related issues.
Once I returned from leave the problems got worse. He bad-mouthed me to my peers and co-workers. I filed a report with our Affirmative Action office and my entire department was moved out from under his authority.

Fast forward to 2004--while this individual and I still have the same superintendent/boss we do have to cross paths on occasion. He has told my employees to "watch their backs" around me, has called me racist (he's african american I am not) and continually creates havoc in my office...

About a month ago this person went to my immediate supervisor and verbally threatened "to jump on me with both feet". Last week I got an email that said I had to go to a department meeting with this individual to find out ways our departments can collaborate and work together.

I have made it very clear to my supervisor that I do not feel safe around this person. I am physically ill and stressed out because of this upcoming meeting.
He is a very dangerous (former gang member) person and I don't want to work with him.

Is there anything I can do? I'm ready to go out on stress leave because my district is not protecting me from this person.

thanks!!

It sounds that this person may be discriminating against you and your management is not doing anything to stop it. You can read more about California's anti-discrimination ruels at: http://www.dfeh.ca.gov/questionsEmp.asp
