I am a licensed Audiologist in the state of IL. I am employed by an Ear Nose and Throat office in IL. My employer is expecting me to operate a mini CT Scan in the office. It is not in the Audiolgist Scope of practice nor am I a licensed radiologist or technician. Can I be fired if I refuse to run the Scanner? Is there a possiblility I could lose my Audiologist license if there is any legal action taken against the physician? What kind of training or experience is required to legally operate a mini CT scanner?

Thank-you,
Denise

You really need to be talking to someone versed in medical licensing and related laws. These aren't employment law issues per se.

If I were you, I'd start by contacting the agency that licenses you and see what they say.
