i work for a large automotive company and heres my question. i work in the parts dept and get paid off parts profit. today we where told that if the dealership was unable to collect its money from its customers with in 90 days that the parts dept would be charged back for money uncollected. that means that it will be taken out of my check. the reason we found this out is we got paid on monday and when we did the math we where coming up about 400.00 dallors short each. so we ask the parts manger and this is the answer we got. when did i become a collection agent? i dont have anything to do with who gets credit. i have worked for this company and this is the first time this has come up, even the parts manger doesnt agree with this policy. any advice would be helpful thank

The Payday Law in Texas requires payment of commissions based on the commission agreement, which is subject to modification, but not retroactively. Also, if part of pay is withheld, a court order, law/regulation, or written authorization of the employee must apply.
