Yes, there are federal wage and hour laws - the Fair Labor Standards Act. Additionally, many States have their own wage and hour laws as well. Employers must comply with both.

I worked over 40 hours and I live in PA. Working as a bartender 8-12 hour shifts with no breaks at all or overtime pay. Is all that legal?
