Can an employee in Illinois work a 40 hour work week at regular time, and then work a Saturday or Sunday at straight time or would they be required to be paid overtime for those weekend hours? Also, are all salaried employees now mandated to be paid overtime if they have agreed to a longer work week for a larger salary?

Hourly employees must be paid OVERTIME pay for all hours worked over 40 hours in one work week.

Not all salaried employees are mandated for overtime.
It is determined by whether or not an employee is "exempt."
New legislature recently went into effect.

Visit this site for more info on overtime, let me know if you still have questions.
