I filed an EEOC complaint pertaining to discrimination due to my child's disability. They now have given me the right to sue. I have an appt with a labor law atty but would like to know what I should expect now? It seems to me that they probably give everyone the right to sue-am I correct? I live in FL.
Thanks,
:)
That is just about correct. The majority of people who file complaints with the EEOC get a right to sue letter; receiving one says next to nothing about the strength of your case.
What you do now is precisely what you are doing; talk to a lawyer, have him assess the strength of your case, and decide whether or not it is worth filing a lawsuit. You have 90 days to do so. If you have not filed one by that time, you are forever barred from doing so.
