Ok hmm.. I need help and I do not have the money to seek any legal advice. So I hope you guys could help. I work at this place in a mall, it's like a franchise, and I work on cellphones. I put decorative cases on these cellphones and there are always accidents where cellphones are frequently damaged due to such work. I just got that job a couple months ago, and recently, a lady complained about my work where I accidently sliced a little of the cover on the phone. She demanded compensation, which is a couple hundred dollars for her phone. I am working there part-time, i have no other job, and my pay is mere 300 dollar a month. My boss now just fired me and took my this month's paycheck. Everyone at work at least broke 5 or more phones a month, and I only broke one. I really need that money and I worked really hard for that money. This month paycheck is taken away from me, is that legal because i broke someone's phone and he has the right to take my paycheck and fire me?

Your employer can make deductions but only if they still leave you with a rate equal to or greater than minimum wage after the deduction.

Then, you need to file a claim against him to get the money back. I don't know if Georgia accepts wage claims or if you need to go to the US Department of Labor. Check with the state: http://www.dol.state.ga.us/

While he cannot take your entire paycheck, it was legal for him to fire you.
