I work for a fire department in a small town in North Carolina. We are paid on a 112 hour pay period every two weeks. Recently a group of us were hired not having all the certifications that are needed. We are being required to take the training needed and having to swap time when we are on duty or taking the time off without pay if we can find no one to swap with while on duty. Recently they paid a guy to go to rookie school for 16 weeks to get the same classes that we are not getting paid to go to. Is this right???
