Hi maybe you can help me.
A coworker stated that Oregon has a law that requires the employer to pay for a uniform allowance, but he was unable to find it.

We have a uniform standard "duty belt, color and style that must be worn" that everyone in the department has to wear including patches with company logo.

Is there such a law? and if so where may I obtain such information.

Thank you

The reason he can't find it is that there is no such law, at least, not for private employers. What may be confusing him is that Oregon law, while not requiring a uniform allowance, does not allow a private employer to make deductions from an employee's pay for uniforms or for laundering uniforms.
