We are a family of five in need of some good advise.
My husband rented a 3bd 2b house in Santa Fe, New Mexico for $ 1,100/month back in March and ever since we moved in we have been infested with ants from top to bottom. The real estate company we rented it from knew this from the beging and failed to tell us. We have a 5 year old, 2 year old, and a 6 month old baby who are living in this enviroment. My husband spoke to the real estate company several times and they appologize and said they will get some one to service the house with no charge to us. The pest control company has come and gone several time with no result and now there calling us for payment. We have had ants in our beds and cribs, bathroom, kitchen, table, walls, sofa, floors, and even crawling on my 2 year old they are everywhere. Its to hard to find a affordable place in Santa Fe and we have a year lease. My question is what can we do???? Didn't the real estate company have a legal obligation to inform us of this problem before we moved in??? Can we ask for a reduce in rent and for them to take care of this problem or do we have to ride our lease out???????????
Some Please Help Us
Thank you
