Seriuosly...? How are we supposed to believe CS ,as it is currently, it for the children? Children are both parents responsinility! Not the Dads financial and the Mothers to raise. Both parents need to split all parts of parental responsibility. The courts are hands down in the favor of the non-custodial parent. I am both custodial and non. I recieve no support for 2 and pay 960 a montyh for one. I pay on time every time. I am behind on due to being out of work for a while. I pay 160 extra every month to catch up. the state of Il. is now trying to suspend my DL and passport unless I pay it all back right now. I need both to keep my job. I have to travel all over. After 3 days of trying to contact them, on the only # they said I was allowed to call, I was told that it did not matter if my job depended on it or not or that I was paying on time and with the arears. They did not care that child support would also have to stop being paid as I would be out of work.

On the other side of that, CP's have it just as bad when the NCP chooses not to pay. Locating the absent parent is up to the CP not the state. They say they dont have time to locate them, they have too many cases. My ex is behind 4 years and the last time I found him they just slapped him on the hand and said please do better next time. Well, that was 2 years ago, and he still has a valid drivers license, works for cash and has a new family with his current girlfriend. The state even went so far as to lower his payments to me to be fair to his new child. While, all the time, I work full time, go to school and take care of the two boys by myself. Its bad on both sides when children are involved. If you ask a mother who has never gotten CS, she would tell you taht they make it very, very easy for them to get away with it. Almost too easy!

Wow what a perfect world you live in. Sure this should be the case - but it isn't always reality and there are ALOT of single parents out there raising children on their own while the other parent has ZERO responsibilities. Exactly my case. I'm not going to call him and ask - it's not my job to make sure he is being a father. PLEASE!
Here is PA they wont suspend your license or do anything with you passport if you paid in the last 30 days. Even if it is $20.00. And of course DR is demanding it all now. They are somewhat a collection agency - so they need the "scare" tactics to get deadbeats to pay. It doesn't always work which is why my arrears is 10K behind.

Yes it would be a better world. And for the real "dead beats" (moms and dads), there should be much harsher punishment. In my case it was my ex's ease to tell a lie that has made it so hard. I there were more serius consiquinces for being dishonest then maybee she would not have done it.

Upon losing employment, notify the court immediately with supporting paperwork and seek emergency modification, give them a projected timeframe for finding a job, and get temporary modification. You have to go file with the court if you have no attorney to do it.
