I just moved to mayland and I need to know the overtime laws. Do you get overtime after 40 hours per week??? How does overtime work here?? I have an employer that I think is trying to skate around some laws. Any help would be greatful.

Overtime after 40 hours is a Federal law that all states must adhere to. While some states have opted to have overtime accrue on a daily basis, MD is not one of them.

If you are non-exempt and you work more than 40 hours in a week, you are entitled to overtime in all 50 states.
