I live in ohio and recently left a job 1 month ago. I quit with 3 days notice because i knew my employer would fire me and leave me with no where to work if found out that i would be leaving to work elsewhere (been done in past to others). I received one paycheck since, but have yet to receive my final paycheck for one days worth of work. I work on a commission only basis for my the services I provide. I contacted my former employer and was told that I can only receive pay if I meet up and talk with her. Just one wk. prior to this, another coworker of mine did just that to get her pay and was yelled at for an hr. and a half before she recieved it. I don't feel a $150 check is worth getting yelled at for...and I have contacted her to tell her this. I have been told that she is entitled to a "conference" with me before giving me that final paycheck. She refuses to send to me otherwise. Is that phone call considered a conference since we did discuss a few issues...(never resolved of course) And is that true? I couldn't find a law that said that was true, but I am not sure how to find it. I thought I would send a complaint to wage&hour administration. What are the laws? Thanks in advance. :confused:

It appears that the employer agrees that you are due the $150. They cannot legally put such a restriction on your receiving that check. You can contact the Ohio Dept. of Labor to see about filing a claim for unpaid wages.
