Hi I work in a restaurant and their policies didn't seem right to me. This place I work at either gives 6 or 9 hour shifts and no matter what shift is given, throughout the day only one 15 minute break is given. In that 15 minute break employees are not allowed to leave the restaurant property - we can't even sit in our cars. I was wondering if this is legal, I am from Louisiana and every employer I've ever had from there said employees must get at least a 30 minute break and I have never had any problem from them leaving the property or even sitting in my car at the very least. Thanks, I'm looking forward to hearing your response.

Louisiana doesn't even require a 15 minute break for adult employees. And, your employer can require you to remain on the premises. I wish I could give you a more favorable answer.
