Ok guys this is the story of my life.....
I came to the US in 1999 with no visa and the intent of applying for asylum. Got apprehended at the airport and applied for asylum. My asylum application was denied in 2001 and ordered deported (or removed..not sure of the INS jargon)..since there was civil war (and still is) in my home country, i was out on an "order of supervision" which entitled me to a work permit. I met my girlfriend in 2002 .and we have a baby together.....and in early 2004 i came to Canada where i'm a landed immigrant (permanent resident ..for all y'all south of the 49th parallel.. :p ..and i'm planing on coming back to the US. The 64k question is.....How do i get back to the US legally? BTW my girlfriend is a US citizen.Any help will be hgihly appreciated.

Maybe you should consider staying in Canada if you are employed with a good life there as I hear it is simpler to become a citizen there; as for marrying an American, these links will provide more info and you decide how you want to approach it.

Thanks for the reply.....the only reason i'm planing to get back is due to my finace's family situation where she has to stay becuase of her mother's health. I'll take Canada anytime over the US but i guess ...family comes first ..right?
